ITAC Climate Collective - January 2023 Action Items

The ITAC Climate Collective is back! Last Friday 27th we had our first Climate Café of the year, where we shared our expectations about 2023 and presented the annual agenda full of wonderful events, guests and workshops!
Don´t worry, you´re still on time! JOIN US and be part of a global community of artivists from around the world who are willing to take #ClimateAction. We believe that by working directly with community members, channeling their creative ideas into climate action, we can make a distinctively powerful change to guarantee our survival on this planet!
We´ll meet again next February 24th at 15 pm (GMT)
About this month’s action item:
We know that to change the world and take #ClimateAction, we all need to change the collective mindset into one more community centered and socioenvironmental focused. A key element to reforestate our conscience, is through EDUCATION! It’s a fundamental aspect of meaningful participation. It allows communities to understand the challenges and have the tools to engage with action and construct solutions.
During 2022, the 1st Transforming Education Summit was held at the headquarters of the United Nations in New York City, US. It was convened in response to a global crisis in education – one of equity and inclusion, quality and relevance. Often slow and unseen, this crisis is devastatingly impacting the futures of children and youth worldwide. The Summit provided a unique opportunity to elevate education to the top of the global political agenda and to mobilize action, ambition, solidarity and solutions to recover pandemic-related learning losses and sow the seeds to transform education in a rapidly changing world.
During the Summit, a Youth Declaration on Transforming Education was presented, which was a result of a participatory exchange of knowledge process that ultimately provided the key elements to Transform Education for present and future generations. And, no longer after, on COP 27, young people from across the globe united to create a Global Climate Education Coalition.
So, if young people are trending education… should we all follow the hype?
Definitely, YES!
