China ITAC Hub
As the China Hub of the International Teaching Artist Collaborative
(ITAC), we are committed to exploring how the arts can contribute to
individual well-being, social connection, and community resilience.
At a time when people have unprecedented access to information yet
increasingly experience loneliness, anxiety, and disconnection, we
believe that art has a vital role to play beyond cultural participation.
Art is not only something to be experienced in theatres or displayed in
museums; it is a powerful human resource that helps people find
meaning, express themselves, build relationships, and navigate the
complexities of contemporary life.
Our vision is to make art a form of life support accessible to everyone.
Through interdisciplinary collaboration among artists, educators,
psychologists, social workers, healthcare professionals, and
community partners, we seek to bring creative practice into schools,
communities, hospitals, homes, and public spaces. By integrating
artistic experiences into everyday life, we aim to nurture creativity,
empathy, mental well-being, and a stronger sense of belonging for
people of all ages and backgrounds.
Through local action and international collaboration, we hope to
contribute to a future in which the arts are recognized not as a luxury,
but as an essential public resource, supporting healthier individuals,
more connected communities, and a more compassionate society.
We believe that art is not a luxury, but a human necessity.
