Facilitating Community Building

Hire ITAC to facilitate community building experiences for your organisation or project

ITAC has strong experience in designing ways to bring participants (often from non-arts backgrounds) together through creative collaborations.

ITAC is a network, made up of practitioners with deep expertise in community building and creative engagement methodologies. As such, we have a unique insight into what it takes to build meaningful, context-specific, community building experiences - especially within non-arts spaces.

Example Event Case Study:
Healing Arts Scotland - ITAC Relay

For Healing Arts Week Scotland, led by the World Health Organisation, Jameel Arts Lab, and Scottish Ballet, ITAC was brought in to design and deliver the Healing Arts Week Scotland ITAC Relay as a means to build and strengthen community relationships among our sector in advance of the event. This 6-month initiative activated 30+ Arts and Health cohorts and more than 300 participants across Scotland. Participants included groups like: Dance for Parkinson’s, creativity in confinement initiatives, Dementia-friendly arts spaces and mental health cohorts. These groups, although working on similar missions, had never collaborated before. Through the ITAC Relay they connected, developed relationships and ultimately created artistic works based on the themes of Healing Arts Week, passing them between each other to build a collective artistic tapestry. This project, the first national-scale effort to connect Arts and Health practitioners in Scotland, was featured at the National Galleries of Scotland, the Scottish Parliament, and the Edinburgh International Festival Hub during Healing Arts Week in August 2024.

Work with ITAC to design your community building experience!

We recognise the pivotal role the arts can play in offering new, dynamic but safe ways to connect people, and have insights into how to provide these experiences in a person-centred and accessible way. We understand that people can be nervous to participate in arts activities, and know how to build towards active and authentic collaborations.
